Things are looking up for LEAF in partnership with HCAP, Honolulu Community Action Program,  to develop a 2-acre ag parcel in Waimanalo. The day before Thanksgiving, HCAP’s

executive team members, and LEAF Executive director, and permaculture specialist met together to do a site assessment of the property.  Another LEAF project consultant, Ray Christopher, was on hand to give valuable advice on farming this land.  The site assessment now gives us a clearer and  broader perspective how to proceed best for  cultivating, both our partnership, and the aina.

This was indeed a day fit for celebrating  thanksgiving as LEAF moves closer to creating another  healthy food system in beautiful  God’s country, ‘take me  home’ Waimanalo.  Currently we are working together, laulima, to create a  Memorandum of Understanding, (MOU) that will establish our formal commitment on this wonderful project.
