LEAF Hawaii has been incorporated as a 501(c) (3) nonprofit corporation since February 2007. LEAF participated in the Compassion Capital Hawaii Moving Forward Fellows Program at the University of Hawaii, in April 2007.  This Fellows program is an organizational capacity building one that helped LEAF  move forward very swiftly in its organizational development stages.  The grant from Compassion Capital enabled LEAF to develop a strong strategic plan,  which has defined the heart and soul of our organization that will carry LEAF toward its long range goals and objectives.
